Child Protection Policy Statement

Principles of Child Protection

The child’s welfare is paramount.

All children, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief and/or sexual identity, have the right to protection from abuse.

All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.

All children have the right to be safe and to be treated with dignity and respect.

All coaches (whether paid or voluntary) have recourse against any allegations made against them.

Working in partnership with children and their parents/carers is essential for the protection of children. Breadsall Priory recognises the statutory responsibility of the Social Services Department to ensure welfare of children and work with local Area Child Protection Committees to comply with procedures.

All of the golfing bodies also recognise their own responsibility to implement the recommendations within; this will be made explicit within a separate document outlining the procedure expected.
